question on triking a 650  (N/A)

Hell-O everyone !

I just joined Burgmantrikes a few days ago .   so far I am impressed !

I have a 2005 Burgman 650 that I bought new still in the box at the SUZUKI dealer in Deland, Florida about 25 miles from my home .  this was my third scooter , first 2 were in 1960-61  a Cushman and a Vespa .   since 1960 I have had over 70 motorcycles some for just a few weeks .   my Burgman is the longest (years wise) I have ever owned and driven .  I LOVE IT !   however: my age and physical condition is making it more restrictive in the riding I am able to do .   so I am thinking of TRIKING the scoot .    I do need some informations and i believe I can get what I need here ! ! !

I have owned a true trike ( old H-D meter-maid)  and a VW (home built) a Vulcan Nomad (home built)  and I triked a Vulcan Classic 1600 with a Voyager kit (that lasted less then 200 miles)     I have also owned 2 with sidecars ( one left hand and one right hand) hated both !

I have been looking and doing a lot of surfing on all the products out there .  I gave Voyager no thought at all because of past experience.    I drove over to Hudson,Florida and drove a TrinityTrike however the steering was very heavy to me , and I was trying to not have to put out another $600 for an easy steering tripple tree !    just to be sure I was not just getting older faster I went to Daytona (15 miles away) and test drove a few full sized trikes .   two of these were NOT shop built (one VW & 1 H-D)  both very heavy steering.  drove 2 new H-D  one factory & one RoadSmith both easy steer and build in the H-D shop .  drove a GWing and a Valkrie both RoadSmith both easy steer and trike shop built!

now my question :           does anyone know how either the Danson or TowPac compare in the steering to either the Trinity trike or a Voyager set-up ?

I am looking for anyone in the Central Florida area who has either a Danson or TowPac on a Burgman 650 so I may ride it . just down the block so that I could compare the "heavy steering problem"

with any luck I woill be driving a BurgerTrike this summer with some help from new friends

Thank You

Re: question on triking a 650  (Canada)

Welcome, I am surprized the Trinity trike is heavy steering. A couple that had the Danson said the trinity was easier to steer. My Danson is easy to steer and hoping the Trinity was better, only time will tell I gess.  Call Lee Mann at Just trike it , he has tried both  and liked the trinity better.   Wayne
