Danson Kit for Burg 650  (United States)

I'm new to this forum, and am glad to see so much about the Burgman 650 trike conversions--particularly the Danson kit.  I have a Burg 650-'05 with 8,000 miles, and it's in great shape.  I've had motorcycles for many years, but now at 72 years old and with a new bionic hip, I find that getting the feet down so much bothers my hips.  I am looking into getting the Danson, but have some reservations---with no reverse, how much pushing is required?  How does it compare to Voyager and Insta-Trike?  Is it a well built and a safe kit?  Can I travel across country, which I plan for this spring, with this set-up?  Well---have too many questions---but have seen a few videos, and they look good.  Any help and comments will be appreciated----I'm a retired high school and college teacher looking to keep going on the scooter....Thanks....Ev

Re: Danson Kit for Burg 650  (Canada)

Welcome Ev, we will try and answer your questions here if we can. The trike is very easy to push for me on gravel drive way. I was going to put a reverse gear in it but it is not needed. Danson is built very strong and I would say it is very safe. I had mine for 2 yrs, travel with wife on it on highway at 120kph with no problem. Cross winds and heavy trucks do not effect it, great on wet roads and stops very quick. If set up right will track straight on level road. I did a lot of research when i decided to trike and the Voyager was not recomended by a lot of people. I heard of a few things breaking on the Tow Pac, maby some of the others will answer that has them on here.  They were both built for any bike, the Danson is specially made for the Burgman 650.  would be easier to tour on the trike, not as tiring as a bike and is more relaxing.  These are just my opinions.  Wayne

Ev,

I beleave i talk to you on the Phone the other day about the Danson kit. My wife has really no problem push it or backing with her feet. Im not sure but i think you can buy a reverse kit for it if you need one. Maybe Seatec, "Wayne" can chim in on this one.
