Changung The Burgman Drive Tire  (United States)

I sent my money for the Danson Kit---I called and can get the Bridgeport Potenza car tire locally for $64.  I am fairly handy, but have never taken the rear wheel off to change tires----how hard is it to take off, mount the new tire, and reinstall the wheel?  I'll do that when the new Danson Kit gets here late March.  Story:  I talked to a really good guy in New Mexico today, Milton----He rode his Burgman Scooter to Kentucky where Dan Johnson installed it for him.  Milton left there, going the southern route, and rode back to New Mexico---3,700 miles, and he said, "I should have bought 2 of them."  He said he rode it at 70 miles per hour most of the way.  He rode it through heavy rain in Texas, and it did a great job of hugging the freeway.  Milton said that he never lifted a wheel on the curves during the whole trip-----He sold me for sure-----I think Dan Johnson has a winner on his hands-----Ev

Re: Changung The Burgman Drive Tire  (Canada)

The back tire is not hard to take off. Get your self a shop manual.  The rim has to be cut down to take the car tire as it is a bit smaller diamater then bike tire. I cut mine down with a mini grinder. I cut the safety bead off then took about 1/16 off the rim, you could go less than 1/16 th of in. Picture s are in gallery of how I did mine, I can explane it to you when you start. Take it to a bike shop to have it put on, I cut my tire off with a utility knief.   Wayne
