There is a new Burgman 400 trike on the market, looks nice, can be seen at www.trinitytrike.com. They are now working on the 650 and should be avaiable nrxt month they told me. I am waiting on one and building a new design body for it when it arrives, hope to test drive it before the snow is here. They build trikes for different small bikes, they are true trikes with a rear end differential. My Danson trike kit and body will be for sale at a fair price, just enough to cover cost of materials for building trike body. Wayne |

Why is it that these trike manufacturers are so afraid to show the design from the rear? Granted the bolt-on kits like the Danson, Tow-Pac, and Voyager don't look like a full trike from the rear, but you would think a full trike manufacturer would be proud enough of their design to show it from the rear. I can only think of one reason not to. After looking at their webpage, however, I think I will stay with my Tow-Pac kit. I still think it is the best of all worlds. It looks good, can be taken off in just a few minutes, and handles better than the rest. I don't think I want to open up a whole new can of worms with an unproven, new design. If any service is needed for my scooter, I can simply remove the trike and take it to any Suzuki dealer in the country. |

There are real good reasons why trike manufacturers don't show detailed pictures of their new designs. First and foremost is that Asia will steal the good stuff in a heartbeat!
We are of course, proud of our designs and in our innocence our first generation systems were on the web with a lot of close up's and details of what was "under the covers." Forget Asia, not long after publishing those pictures, we became aware of at least two places in Florida that apparently were producing copy cat's and we had calls from around the country from guys wanting information on where we got our components so they could "roll their own!" Hmmmmmmmm!! Anyway, needless to say our 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation cruiser bike systems are less closely photographed! (and are now covered under our patent claims with the government).
In the case of the Burgman's, we are even more cautious because of the clever (and really new) ways we integrate our modification of the drive systems. That integration is so tight that we think the assembly has an unmistakeable look of being a "factory job" instead of an add on. The outrigger systems have their place, but there are a whole lot of us that want "a real trike" and now Burgman community has yet a choice they didn't have before Trinity.
But perhaps Wayne will chime in here with his impressions. To help him with his new body design, Wayne was given some detailed measurements and work in progress photographs. Under a "no release" agreement, I did send him a number of close up's of the rear assembly and close up's of the finished rear end.
In response to being "an unproven, new design." Trinity Trikes have logged hundreds of thousands of user highway miles already. Many of those miles are hard miles (including one rider who reportedly popped wheelies on his machine -- clearly not recommended!) Design problems have been virtually non existent -- quite the contrary -- the ease of handling of all Trinity trikes, but particularly the Burgman, are a consistent "WOW!!" factor to new riders.
The heart of the system is the full differential. Although the casing and attachments are of own design, the "guts" of it are tried and proven spider gears from Dana Manufacturing. Our brake caliper's are from Wilwood Engineering (well known for their racing and dragster brakes) and most of the rest of the assembly is 6061 (or better) aluminum which is why our conversions weigh in at a fraction of other methods.

Hi Bob!
I'm VERY INTERESTED in one of your kits. I have a Burgman 400 now, but am looking to upgrade to a Burgman 650 Exec soon. Will your kit work with the ABS that's on the Exec model, or strictly on the Standard model 650? Also, I sent you an email a couple of days ago, asking about Prices and such.

Hi BB.
I was talking to Bob about the ABS and he said it would work, thats what I have now. Im sure Bob will join in here and let you know about what they are doing with the ABS. Its great to have the trike dealers come on the site and answer questions about their product, that way we all learn more. I asked others to have some imput on their product but dont show much interest, maby Trinity trike will change that and get some good dissucions going on here, I would like to see this site grow and be the main info site for Burgman trikes.. I just checked the video, looks good, looks like its easy to turn with very little effort, thats what Im looking for. The Danson is good at steering but not as easy as what I saw in the video. I was looking at getting a leading leg made for it, but hard to find for burgman. I gess one is not needed with the trinity burgman. Now if the 650 is as good you will be busy . I notice very little roll to out side corner when you trun, thats another +, now if its just as smooth as my Danson , you will give the Goldwing trikers something to think about. A nice trike with full body ( mine) less than 1/2 price of a GW, better fuel millage, no shifting, what more could you want. Wayne |

We got a nice (and unsolicited) email from the owner of the 400 on our site. I got permission to post it there (and will do so tomorrow), but thought I'd share the text with you guys first. Here it is:
Hi Richard,
I just arrived home from picking up my Bergman 400, which you triked for me. This first ride of about 10 miles and my initial impression and experience were excellent. They were good because the trike handled very well. It turned easily, responding quickly and surely. The handling was superb. It responded instantly and surely to effortless handlebar movement and I never feared tipping or any lack of control. I always felt the Bergman 400 had a lot of get up and go, which has not been compromised by the triking. It goes fast and responds to throttle control. Having three wheels instead of two was not only a wonderful safety feature but has improved the ride as well.
My initial impression is that having Trinity trike my Bergman 400 has given me new stability without sacrificing the good handling and fast get up and go that I have always enjoyed. It also looks great as well as riding extremely well. It is a fast, safe ride that makes owning a Trinity Trike a real pleasure. Thanks for your excellent work.
