Re: New Burgman Trike  (United States)

Hey, lighten up Bob.  I wasn't putting your design down, just stating my opinions.  And, I'm not looking to steal your design, and I wouldn't want you to compromise that to anyone else either.  But, I do think your advertising should include a picture of the trike from the rear, not so close that you would expose your design, but enough to where a potential buyer can see what the trike looks like from all perspectives.  Everyone complains about the add-on kits looking like simple out-rigger wheels, when they are so much more than that.  And everyone complains that they don't have the boxey looks of the Goldwing trikes. And that is precisely why most kit manufacturers don't show them from the rear, and I suspect you as well, as yours (from what I can see) doesn't have much substance to it either.  Granted it is a "real" trike kit with an axle rather than just "out-riggers" but I don't see a lot of storage, etc., like the MotorTrikes, the Champions, and the others.  Maybe that can be a future design.  Maybe take some input from Seatec.  And I don't believe anyone has proven that the drive train of the Burgman can support a heavy axle and wheel setup.  So, no matter how much experience you have with the components of the trike kit and the kits themselves on other bikes, what experience do you have with the Burgmans transmission?  Tell us about how you are interfacing the ABS to your kit.  These are questions that we need answered before I lay down $15,000 for a scooter and kit which I can't remove.  And, Suzuki will void my warranty, so I'll have to rely on you for service for my scooter. Are you willing to take responsibility for that?  Dana makes great components - I've used them in my Jeep for years.  It's just the whole package that I make my opinions about.  And, I would still like to see it from the rear!

Hi Bob!

I'm VERY INTERESTED in one of your kits.  I have a Burgman 400 now, but am looking to upgrade to a Burgman 650 Exec soon.  Will your kit work with the ABS that's on the Exec model, or strictly on the Standard model 650?  Also, I sent you an email a couple of days ago, asking about Prices and such.

Thanks!

Cheers!

BB

We've designed the 650's to retain the ABS sensor.

At 250 pounds, I'm as light as I'm gonna be for the near future!!

I sent the only shot I have so far of the Burgman rear to Wayne to post in the gallery.  While in there, I took a look at your ride -- very nice looking with lots of storage.  It sounds like you are a bit nervous about our new technology and I might suggest that you keep what you have for a few more years and wait and see how we do with what we are building.
