Trim brackets  (United States)

Hello to the forum.  I'm new here and just installed a mini-trike kit on my '08 Burgie 650.  I'm an Aeronautical Engineer by trade and the design of the Tow-Pac looked to be the best solution for me in my opinion.  I'm also handicapped so the trike was really more a necessity than an option since my weak left leg could not keep the Burgman righted  Anyway, the install went well after I concluded the factory had mounted the left bracket member on the trike frame backwards.  After that was corrected, she bolted right up.

My questions are:

1. Do the two trim (cosmetic) brackets on the rear of the trike mount under the fenders or on top them?  I mounted mine between the fenders and the frame.  There was nothing in the instructions about the brackets or how to install them.

2.  What is the real purpose of the brackets?  I assume they are strictly trim items that allow running lights or reflective tape to be added. Once installed, I noticed they did a really poor job or concealing the ends of the frame tubing and the white portion of the fenders still show (corrected that with touch-up paint).

Thanks,

Danny

Re: Trim brackets  (N/A)

Hi Danny, On mine, I put them under the fenders and then added reflective tape to them. Guess you could add lights or something if you wanted.

When I got my kit, I picked up some grey paint and painted the fenders to kind of match the grey bike so didn't have any white to show..

Re: Trim brackets  (United States)

Hi Danny.  I'm also a Mechanical Designer, and after looking at the three choices, Voyager, Danson, and Mini-Trike, I too, chose the Tow-Pak kit.  I believe it offers the best all around rind and stabilization.  Take a look at the photos of my trike in the gallery.  There is one picture from the rear which shows the installation.  I have since added LED lights to my fenders.  If these pictures don't tell you what you want, email me and I will take some good close-ups for youk.  Welcome to the forum.
