I have a tow pac and will try to answer any questions I can.  (N/A)

Have about 1000 to 1500 miles on it. Installed around first of September. This is the 12" wheel version that I installed on a 2006 650 exec with a little over 4000 miles.

My wife rides with me now where she was afraid she would dump us with only 2 wheels.

It does change the experiance. Before I used to ride and lean into the curves etc. Now I drive and hang on in the curves. Actually more fun than it sounds. Don't worry about slipping on leaves crosing obstcales at right angles.

Sitting at stop lights with feet on the floorboards is convienient as well.

Only thing I will mention about the tow pac is the rear frame member connection is not very sturdy.  The actual connection point I am refering to is the very thin 650 frame attachment point. Some of the burgmans may be thicker than mine.  Another words they can break the weld from the frame. It didn't seem to create amy particular problem other than a rattle. I did take the right side off and re made a braket that would attach to the front attachment point as well as the 2 attachment points for the mufler bracket.  This took me most of a day to figure out how to do what I wanted to do. Sent pictures of what happen and my suggestion for maybe helping correct but have not heard anything back.

Would like to see hoe the Danson is mounted to the bike and maybe get and idea on modifications if needed.

Other than that I am please with the tow pac and plan on a lot more miles on it.

This site will be nice to hear everryones experiances......Sonny

Re: I have a tow pac and will try to answer any questions I can.  (United States)

On the tow pac the front attatches to a bracket that replaces the centerstand and I think it is pretty solid.

The rear attatchments are connected on either side to the bolt that attaches the what I would call the main frame to the rear frame on each side. The first bolt is pretty substancial but the other bolt atatches to the bolt an inch or so toward the rear. That one has approx and 8mm bolt that ataches the mainframe to the little bottom fender frame going around the back of the bike. his bracket is little more than a peiece of tin welded to the frame.

Anyhow if you could post a picture or something it would be helpful as I don't mind making modifications. That's half the fun of it.

Although I will say it is a lot more secure since I made the new bracket.

I do like all you have done with yours. It sure looks nice.

Thanks...Sonny

I put up a few pictures of frame , but it is hard to make out, a lot of tubes welded together and would not be the same as Towpac. The side frame for the swingarm arm fastens to bolts at drivers foot rest at front  and to shock bolts at back. It is very strong  the way he has it desinged. The back piece uses shocks and a stablizer rod  on each side fastened to bottem of shock. I know this does not make much sence, you would have to look at one to understand it. The Towpac does not use shocks I dont think.   Wayne

No the tow pac doesn't use shocks. The spring action is a torsion bar effect and not having ridden anything to compare it too, it seems to work fine.  The shock bolts sound interesting. If it gives me any more issues, I'll look into that.

Will try to get some pictures of the bike in the next few days. There are some taken a while back on the BUSA  site, but like everyone elses, the mods change almost daily.

More info on the new bracket would sure be nice to have!!  After about 500 miles, with several trips on my bumpy crushed stone driveway and a TERRIBLY rutted and cordory dirt road, a sneak peak with a camera doesn't show any deflection in that bracket, but I can't help being concerned after seeing Bill in NM's disaster.  Please share any improvement in the structure department.

My husband has a Burgman with the tow pac kit installed. He limped it home from a recent ride and I disassembled it enough to find one of the tow pac brackets broken on the left side as well as the Burman fender bracket on the right broken off. Can you point me in the dirrection of where you posted the picuteres of your fix? I'm trying to get some ideas on how to repair it for him. Thanks!
