Hi Bob
I have a few questions. I am interested in your trike conversion for the 09 Burgman 650 exec. I think I saw on your website something about a local dealer who could make the conversion for me. I am somewhat mechanically inclined, but can’t weld. I don’t really know if I could do the work or not, but would be willing to pay a pro to do it.
Questions;
- Is there a dealer in or close to the Oklahoma City OK area, if so, could you give me the info on them?
- If there isn’t a dealer close, could you do the conversion for me?
- What would the costs be?
- Would I have to supply the Burgman, or would you purchase it and I would just pay you for the whole thing?
- How much would it be, and how much for the shipping?
Motortrike offers a turnkey trike of the Honda 750, but I think the 650 Burgman is a better bike, at least I like it better.
I would have you reply to my personal email, but it isn’t working at present, so if you could answer me here I would appreciate it.
Thanks for any info.

As Wayne knows, I talk a whole lot faster than I type. Got a full plate today and your questions deserve a detailed answer. So I'll work up those detailed answers to you over the weekend....

The Burman conversion is shaping up to be something that any good and careful scooter mechanic can handle. As is the case for all Trinity conversions, the installer doesn't do any welding. When required, that is done by us.
To judge your own skills, if you are comfortable with (1) removing your rear wheel, caliper and disk; (2) replacing them again and (3) bleeding your brakes, then you could likely handle the whole thing for yourself.

1. Not yet, but I've had inquiries in OK.
2. Yes
3. Typical 650 expense is about $6100 with the steel fender option plus $380 if you get our wheels (which you don't have to).
4. We are not a bike dealer, just a conversion manufacturer so yes, you have to supply the ride. We could give you the name of a couple of good local dealers and you can arrange it over the phone and have them give it to us for conversion. Actually we have just done that very thing in the case of an '09 Yamaha cruiser.
5. Shipping the assemblies to you is covered by our table on the website ( http://www.thetrinitytrike.com/images/UPS.jpg) and it would be up to you to find a shipper of a finished trike. Use the stock length and hight. The shipping width would be about 54"
Hope this helps!

When will the 650 Burgman conversion be available?

Any idea how much net weight will be added to with the 650 conversion? I have a uni-go trailer. Can it handle that too? I'm assuming a different hitch would be required.

Wayne,
Another question for you specifically. I posted this on the burgman forum on a response to one of your posts but I wasn't sure which forum you were most likely to check.
I'm considering the Trinity trike kit for my 650 and noticed that you have dual exhausts on your danson kit. Are they true duals? I have the leo vince exhausts on my 650 so doing a dual exhaust wouldn't be too much of a problem I'd think since they already have a 2-1 coupler which can be removed. Trinity Trike is very close to me down here in Tampa.
Any info about the exhausts and mufflers you're using on your trike would be useful.
Thanks.

Hi Ed.
Welcome to the fourm. No they are are not true duel exhausts, I also have the leo exhaust. When are you getting your trinity kit, Im waiting on mine, hope to get it soon to start building. If you are close , coud you drop in and show them the leo exhaust so they can have a look at it and they can modify my kit for it, so it will fit. Wayne |

Wayne,
I'm planning to try to get over there this week. I haven't ordered a kit yet, so I'd like to be able to get a look at one. I'd be glad to let them take a look and even measurements for the exhausts if they want to. You could even mod the stock exhausts, at least the ones without the O2 sensors. My 650 is an 05 model so it doesn't have the O2 sensor.
This kit looks exactly like what I'd like to do, i.e. a real trike. My wife and I do alot of double up riding, which I don't have a problem with; however, I think having a trike would make our trips much more enjoyable. I didn't know about this kit until just recently. I've been considering a Gold Wing trike down the road, but considering the size of the investment (32k+ us) this is a much better way to go in my opinion. Plus, the Burgman is already such a unique ride, adding the real trike kit would only make it better.
By the way, do most people still run motorcycle tires on the front with the trike kits? I didn't know if there was a car tire that would fit the front.
Thanks for the info. I'll let you know what I find out at Trinity.
